ASUS's gaming phone, ROG Phone 2 launched in India


(MENAFN- NewsBytes) As an upgrade to its ROG phone, Taiwanese tech giant ASUS has launched the ROG Phone 2 in India today.

The handset will go on sale starting September 30 during Flipkart's The Big Billion Days sale.

As for key highlights, it comes with a 120Hz display, a beefy 6,000mAh battery, and top-of-the-line internals including the all new Snapdragon 855 Plus processor.

The ROG Phone 2 sports a conventional rectangular design with proportional top and bottom bezels. On the rear, it houses horizontally aligned dual cameras and customizable LED logo.

The handset features a 6.59-inch AMOLED display with a full-HD+ (1080x2340 pixels) resolution, HDR 10 support, 120Hz refresh rate, and 240Hz touch-sensing rate.

Further, it gets an under-display fingerprint scanner and Gorilla Glass 6 protection.

In the imaging department, the ROG Phone 2 gets dual rear cameras including a 48MP (f/1.8) primary sensor and 13MP (f/2.4) ultra-wide-angle sensor.

On the front, it houses a 24MP selfie shooter with f/2.2 aperture.

Furthermore, the rear camera is capable of recording 4K videos at upto 60fps, while the selfie camera can record 1080p videos at 30fps.

Powering the ROG Phone 2 is the Snapdragon 855 Plus octa-core processor, upto 12GB RAM, and upto 512GB of UFS 3.0 storage.

Under the hood, it runs Android Pie-based ROG UI and packs a gigantic 6,000mAh battery with Quick Charge 4.0 (30W) fast-charging support.

Furthermore, the handset gets dual-stereo speakers, two Type-C ports, a bunch of optional gaming accessories, and vapor chamber cooling system.

The ROG Phone 2 gets all the latest connectivity options including dual-SIMs (Nano), dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, and a headphone jack. The phone also gets all standard sensors including accelerometer, proximity, gyroscope, and e-compass.
