A spokesman for the National Committee for Disaster Management (NCDM), Keo Vy, said on Sunday that 16 people have died so far in flash floods and 5 others were injured in Cambodia.
7 children were among the dead, he added.
The floods struck parts of 8 provinces out of the 25 cities and provinces in the kingdom, the affected provinces include Kratie, Stung Treng, Kampong Cham, Tboung Khmum, Kampong Thom, Prey Veng, Kandal and Preah Vihear.
He was quoted saying that "About 89,722 families were affected, and 14,583 of them were evacuated to higher ground".
