The statistics of Bangladesh telecom regulator showed on Sunday that the number of internet users in Bangladesh has increased by around 7 million users in the starting 8 months of the current year, the total number of internet users in Bangladesh has climbed to 98 million by the end of August.
Data from Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC) showed that the number of subscribers in the country has hit 98.136 million.
The BTRC data showed that there were 92.361 million mobile Internet and 5.735 million broadband Internet users out of the total subscribers in the country, the rest of the connections were made through WiMAX.
Cell phone companies in the country in the starting 8 months of the year had about 5.59 million new internet users to raise the total subscribers to 162.583 million at the end of the month.
