Oman- MoH warns against sale of herbal products online

(MENAFN- Muscat Daily) Muscat -

The Ministry of Health (MoH) has urged citizens and residents to buy medicines only from licensed pharmacies. The warning was issued by the ministry after it noticed increase in trade of fake herbal medicines and products on social media channels.

MoH has said that most of these products are being sold on fake claims. It said that promoters of these products were misleading customers by saying that these products do not cause any health risk which contravenes the provisions of the Pharmacology and Pharmaceutical Establishments Law issued by Royal Decree 35/2015.

MoH also added that most of these products are being analysed to verify the contents and most results show that they contain chemicals not mentioned in the medicine composition. 'This is considered as commercial fraud and promoters of these products will have to face legal action.'
