Composite CPI increases in Macao

(MENAFN)

The special administrative Macao statistics department said on Saturday that the composite consumer price index in Macao rose 2.83 percent in August since the past year to 116.41, rising 0.23 percentage points from the 2.60 percent growth in July.

A report from the Statistics and Census Service showed that the rise in August was caused by higher charges for eating out, rising rentals for dwellings and dearer prices of fresh pork, motor cars, gasoline and gold jewellery.

The increasing prices of fresh pork made up 0.32 percent of the growth.
