(MENAFN) Soldiers from the United States will be heading to Saudi Arabia following an approval from U.S. President Trump, aiming to support air and missile defenses in the Kingdom.
Reports made the revelation, explaining that the decision was made following attacks on Saudi oil facilities which affected oil prices.
The U.S, as the Pentagon unveiled, will send a moderate number of soldiers to provide Saudi Arabia with defense.
U.S. Defense Secretary Mark Esper stated "in response to the kingdom's request, the president has approved the deployment of U.S. forces, which will be defensive in nature and primarily focused on air and missile defense."
Esper added "we will also work to accelerate the delivery of military equipment to the kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the UAE to enhance their ability to defend themselves."
