U.S. active drilling rigs count declines

Weekly data released by Baker Hughes on Friday showed that the number of active drilling rigs in the U.S. saw a decline of 18 to set at 868 this week, 185 rigs decease since the past year.

The active drilling rigs had 719 oil rigs working in the U.S. oil fields, dropping 14 from the past week; 148 gas drilling rigs, decreasing five from the previous week; and one newly added miscellaneous rig.

842 out of 868 rigs are land drilling rigs, dropping 18 from the last week, 25 offshore drilling rigs, decreasing one from the past week; and one newly added inland waters drilling rig.

756 are horizontal drilling rigs, 61 are directional drilling rigs and 51 are vertical drilling rigs.
