Sri Lanka- Crucial UNF party leaders meeting ends inconclusively


(MENAFN- Colombo Gazette) A crucial party leaders meeting of the United National Front (UNF) ended inconclusively this evening.

The meeting took place at Temple Trees with the participation of UNF leader, Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe, United National Party (UNP) Deputy Leader Sajith Premadasa, UNF party leaders Champika Ranawaka, Mano Ganesan, Rauff Hakeem and a representative of Minister Rishad Bathiudeen.

The party leaders did not reach an agreement in the Presidential candidate of the UNF but decided to have more talks.

Premadasa said that the UNF leaders agreed the UNF Presidential candidate must be selected by reaching a consensus and without division.

He said he was confident the UNF leaders will reach an agreement soon on the Presidential candidate. (Colombo Gazette)
