Azerbaijan says Armenia commits 23 truce breaches

(MENAFN) Azerbaijan's Defense Ministry confirmed on Saturday, September 21, Armenian armed forces to have committed 23 breaches to a truce over a 24-hour period.

Since 1988, both South Caucasus nations saw the eruption of clashes after Armenia announced territorial claims against Azerbaijan.

Armenian forces, in 1992, took over 20 percent of Azerbaijan with areas covering the Nagorno-Karabakh region and seven districts around it.

Peace talks between the two countries resulted back in 1994 in a ceasefire deal, which is constantly being violated.
