Qatar- Municipality Minister participates in ministerial meeting of GCC committee


(MENAFN- The Peninsula) The State of Qatar participated, with a delegation headed by the Minister of Municipality and Environment, H E Abdullah bin Abdulaziz bin Turki Al Subaie, in the 29th Ministerial Meeting of the GCC's Agricultural Cooperation Committee held yesterday at the headquarters of the Advisory Council of the GCC in Muscat, Sultanate of Oman.

During the meeting, they discussed a number of issues related to the fields of agriculture, livestock and fisheries, including the continuation of the implementation of the third phase of the joint palm project, the adoption of a number of laws (regulations).

They also discussed a proposal to establish a Gulf bank for plant genetic resources, and the unified collective purchase of veterinary medicines and vaccines, Unified Law (Law) for the Protection, Development and Exploitation of the Living Aquatic Wealth of the GCC States and its Executive Regulations, and the proposal to unify the date of banning shrimp fishing in the GCC States.

Members of the Committee were also briefed on the latest programme on releasing Kingfish.

The State of Qatar participated in the 27th meeting of the undersecretaries of the ministries concerned with agriculture in the Gulf Cooperation Council states on Wednesday, with a delegation headed by Sheikh Dr. Faleh bin Nasser Al Thani, Assistant Undersecretary for Agriculture and Fisheries Affairs at the Ministry of Municipality and Environment.
