Pakistan- KP govt to establish three medical colleges in tribal districts


(MENAFN- Tribal News Network) PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government will establish six new medical teaching colleges in the province, said a statement issued by the KP health department on Friday.

New medical colleges will be set up in Lakki Marwat, Karak. Haripur, South Waziristan, Kurram and Bajaur, said Health Minister Hisham Inamullah Khan. Medical colleges in these districts would be built with existing 500-bed hospitals, said the statement while quoting provincial health Minister Hisham Khan.


It was further added that the KP government will provide land for the establishment of medical colleges in all five districts. The statement further revealed that the establishment of medical colleges will be completed under a public-private partnership.

The KP health minister also announced that modern machinery would be installed in all District Headquarter hospitals of the province. 'All modern machinery will be provided under Public-Private Partnership,' the minister said.

A special committee has been constituted for preparing a plan for establishing medical colleges which were tasked to present completed report within ten days, said Health Minister Hisham Khan.

 

KP Secretary Energy slams slow-paced work on energy projects

PESHAWAR: Secretary Energy and Power, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Mohammad Zubair Khan has slammed the slow pace of work on the ongoing energy projects in the province. Presiding over a meeting to review work on the ongoing energy projects here Friday, he directed the concerned authorities for completion of all projects during the specified time period at all costs.

The Secretary Energy and Power KP directed the officers of the department to evolve a formal plan for completion of the projects under targets specified for quality and time. The meeting was told that 280 mini-micro hydel stations have been completed in the electricity deprived districts of the province and the remaining will be completed during the next financial year.

On this occasion, the Secretary directed the Project Director to ensure completion of mini-micro hydel projects within the stipulated time period.
