Saudi King: Attack on Aramco threatens region's stability


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) JEDDAH, Sept 20 (KUNA) -- Saudi King Salman bin Abdulaziz on Friday denounced the strike on Aramco's oil facilities as a dangerous escalation and a threat to regional security and the global oil supplies.
Talking with Chinese President Xi Jinping over the telephone, King Salman said "the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia will take appropriate measures, which maintain its stability and security after completing investigations" regarding the incident, according to Saudi Press Agency (SPA).
Meanwhile, the Chinese President condemned strongly the sabotage attack, which targeted Aramco's oil facilities.
He said that the assault is a dangerous violation of Saudi Arabia's security and stability, the agency said.
He affirmed the comprehensive strategic partnership between Saudi Arabia and China.
The Chinese leader also stressed that China supports Saudi Arabia's stability and security as well as efforts aiming to maintain its territorial integrity.
He voiced his country's appreciations to Saudi Arabia for the positive measures taken to ensure the continuation of oil supplies. (end)
