Crude oil inventories rise in U.S.

The U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA) said in a report on Wednesday that the crude oil inventories in the U.S. saw a rise in the week ending on the 13th of September.

Commercial crude oil inventories of the U.S., without those in the Strategic Petroleum Reserve, added 1.1 million barrels from the previous week, according to a report of the weekly petroleum status.

The U.S. crude oil inventories were at 2 percent less than the 5 year average at 417.1 million barrels.

The EIA said that the total motor gasoline inventories climbed 0.8 million barrels in the past week and stood at 4 percent over the 5 year average.
