Release of 2 kidnapped Jordanians in Libya


(MENAFN) Two of three Jordanians who were kidnapped in Libya previous year have been sat free, as said by Jordan on Wednesday.

The Ministry's Spokesperson Sufian Qudah said in a statement that, Jordan's Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi received a phone call previous week from his Libyan counterpart Mohamed El Taher Seyala about Tripoli's choice to release the two Jordanians.

The Jordanian official appreciated the Libyan authorities for securing safe return of the Jordanians kidnapped in Libya last August.

The three Jordanians had been first detained by Libyan militant group, but were then handed over to another; delaying efforts to secure their release and the Libyan authorities sited the kidnapped and referred their case to the concerned authorities.

The Jordanian authorities will keep on working with the Libyan authorities to guarantee the release of the third person, as said by them.
