Oman- Seven Asians arrested with three tonnes of hashish

A gang of seven Asians has been held with three tonnes of hashish, the ROP has said

The arrests were made by officials from the Directorate General for Combating Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances, ROP, in cooperation with some citizens in Al Ashkarah in South Sharqiyah.

An ROP official said that hashish was hidden inside cartons and kept in a boat on the Al Ashkarah beach to be smuggled out of the sultanate.

The official said that legal measures have been initiated and the accused referred to the Public Prosecution for further investigation. The ROP calls upon people to report any information on drug smugglers on 1444.
