Nigeria: road accident kills 18 in Nasarawa


(MENAFN) At least eighteen people were killed as a result of a bus accident that occurred in central Nigeria, local road safety police emphasized on Tuesday.

There are six people sustained wounds as a result of the accident which occurred on Sunday in the central Nigerian state of Nasarawa, and they are now receiving the needed medical treatment at a local hospital.

The Federal Road Safety Corps emphasized that 13 persons had earlier passed away directly when the commuter bus rammed into an oncoming truck along the Akwanga-Nasarawa Eggon federal highway in central Nigeria.

On Monday evening, five out of the earlier wounded people had passed away, while receiving treatment at the hospital, affirmed Ismaila Kugu, state commander of the road safety police in Nasarawa.
