U.S. solider dies in Afghanistan

One U.S. soldier was killed in Afghanistan on Monday, as confirmed by the U.S. Defense Department.

The Pentagon said in a statement that the soldier died due to small arms fire as his unit got engaged in combat operations in Wardak Province of Afghanistan, the incident remains under investigation.

The U.S. has around 14,000 troops dispatched in Afghanistan, whom are providing training to local Afghan forces while carrying out counterterrorism operations
