The Canadian Finance Department said on Tuesday that Canada saw a USD10.6 billion budget deficit at the end of the fiscal year 2018-2019.
Canada had a USD14.33 billion budget deficit in the fiscal year 2017-2018.
Total federal debt at the end of the 2018-2019 fiscal year reached USD517.4 billion in comparison with USD506.09 billion for the previous year.
Canada's federal debt-to-GDP ratio dropped to 30.9 percent from 31.3 percent a year ago.
