External debt twice the GDP in Mongolia


(MENAFN) External debt in Mongolia is twice the gross domestic product (GDP) to stand at around USD30 million, as revealed head of the Reserve Management and Financial Markets Department at the Bank of Mongolia, Atarbaatar Enkhjin.

"Our country's external debt stood at 29.7 billion U.S. dollars at the end of the first half of this year," the official announced while addressing a conference.

Participants of the conference explored means to create optimal plans that aim at regulating external debt along with boosting the reserves of foreign currency.

Last year, data that the World Bank issued showed, Mongolia reached USD13 billion in its gross domestic product (GDP).
