Kuwait Paralympic basketball team wins 1st game in West Asia Championship


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) AMMAN, Sept 17 (KUNA) -- Kuwait National Paralympic basketball team won its first match against Bahrain 53-19 in the first round of 2nd edition of West Asia Championship held in Jordan.
In a statement for KUNA, Head of the Kuwaiti Paralympic delegation Shafi Al-Hajery stressed on the importance of this first win, noting that it gives the team a "strong push" for the upcoming games, especially against the defending champion Iraq which as he describes as "tough."
Al-Hajery praised Kuwait's performance and hoped for stability to achieve more victories in the upcoming games.
Kuwait will face Iraq Thursday in the final round of the group stage. The first group includes Kuwait, Iraq and Bahrain, meanwhile, the second group includes UAE, Jordan and Oman. (end)
