Qatar- New Amiri decree grants residence permits without sponsor for investors


(MENAFN- The Peninsula) QNADoha: The Amir H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani on Monday issued Decree Law No. (23) of 2019, amending some provisions of Law No. (21) of 2015 regulating the entry and exit of expatriates and their residence.

According to the amendment, the competent authority in the Ministry of Interior may issue entry permits and grant residence permits without sponsor for investors subject to the provisions of the law regulating the

investment of non-Qatari capital in economic activity for a period of five years, renewable, and owners and beneficiaries of real estate in accordance with the provisions of the law regulating the non-Qatari ownership and use of real estate for a period of five years shall be automatically renewed for the duration of their ownership or use of real estate, and any other categories determined by a decision of the Cabinet.

The decree is effective starting from its date of publication in the official gazette.
