(MENAFN) Egyptian Minister of Trade and Industry Amr Nassar confirmed the country to be receiving USD1.2 billion per year of financing from the European Union (EU) in its developmental collaboration initiatives.
Minister Nassar revealed the volume of trade between Egypt and the EU to have stood at around 30 percent of the country's international merchandise trade.
The EU-funded Trade and Domestic Market Enhancement Programme (TDMEP) helps reforms in the Ministry of Trade to be better, the minister affirmed while attending the closing ceremony of the TDMEP.
Nassar added "the program also paves the way for improving structural strategies in cooperation with the private sector and drafting the national quality strategy for Egypt's industry."
