USD1.7b trade surplus in S. Korea

(MENAFN) Balance of trade in South Korea hit a USD1.7 billion surplus during the eighth month of this year, marking the 91st consecutive month for a surplus to be posted in the country.

Korea Customs Service pointed out on Monday that these results come even though South Korea keeps on witnessing a decline in exports.

Last month, a 13.8 percent decrease was seen in exports to stand at USD44.1 billion, with imports reaching USD42.4 billion to drop by 4.2 percent.

Exports to Vietnam registered a boost in August, while a fall was seen in shipments to China, the United States and the European Union (EU).
