Boost in Chinese retail sales to USD479.78b


(MENAFN) Data that the National Bureau of Statistics issued on Monday revealed retail sales in China to have stood at USD479.78 billion, marking a 7.5 percent surge last month on annual basis.

However, according to statistics, the figure reflected a slowdown of 0.1 percentage points in August compared to a month earlier.

Consumer products sales, not counting automobiles, registered a 9.3 percent year-on-year boost, increasing 0.5 percentage points compared to July.

Retail sales of consumer goods in the country recorded an 8.2 percent jump from January to August, a decline by 0.1 percentage points from the January-July period.
