Deadly train, bus crash in southern Kazakhstan


(MENAFN) The regional mayor's office confirmed on Sunday that, a bus driver died and nine were wounded after a train-bus crash in the Almaty district in southern Kazakhstan.

The accident occurred on the Yekaterinburg-Almaty highway; at around 19:20 local time (1320 GMT).


The train at full speed collided into the bus with 67 people at a crossing at Shamalgan station as the bus driver drove onto the railway through a traffic jam.


The bus stayed on the railway track when the train came, investigation is in progress.
