At the beginning of new academic year, Qatar Charity, with the support from the people of Qatar, distributed 2,560 bags with school supplies to students belonging to families suffering from a challenging living and economic situation in Palestine.
The project, which was carried out in cooperation with the Ministry of Social Development and the Ministry of Education, aims at meeting some of the needs of the beneficiaries and easing the economic burdens on their families.
The school bag distribution programme targeted students, both male and female, in younger age groups within Palestinian schools, providing each student with a bag containing school tools and supplies, depending on his/her educational level.
The distribution took place in the entire West Bank, including Al Quds Al Sharif, in cooperation with schools and centres belonging to ministries participating in the project, in addition to Qatar Charity.
At the beginning of the new school year, many Palestinian families suffer from a tough living and economic condition in light of the increasing prices of school goods and products.
Besides, Qatar Charity's office in Sudan organised an educational and recreational activity for its sponsored orphans, both girls and boys, in the Kassala State of the country. More than 250 orphans accompanied by their mothers took part in the activity.
The activity included purposeful games, competitions, plays, and songs reflecting some educational values such as truthfulness and honesty, and good morals.
The orphans and their mothers expressed their happiness with this activity that brought joy and pleasure to them, extending thanks to sponsors in Qatar for their support and to Qatar Charity's office in Sudan for the follow-up and good attention.
The event was organised as part of the 2019 general plan for the activities of the sponsored orphans, which aims at providing integrated care to them. The sponsorship of orphans falls within Qatar Charity's ‘Rofaqa' initiative, which sponsors over 162,000 orphans worldwide.
