(MENAFN- Muscat Daily) Muscat -

The National Centre for Statistics and Information (NCSI) last week started a citizens' survey on Shura Council elections 2019. It will run until September 19.

The survey aims to measure the extent of Omani citizens' knowledge of the Shura Council, their willingness to participate and vote in the upcoming elections, and to identify their participation and experience in previous elections.

The survey also aims to know if citizens understand voting conditions and procedures such as the minimum age of 21 years, the need to register in the electoral register, the extent of satisfaction with those conditions and procedures, and identify any obstacles that may prevent citizens from voting. It will also ascertain the level of education, the degree of satisfaction with those conditions, as well as the
identification of some of the criteria that the voter takes into account when selecting candidates.

The survey is being conducted on a sample of 1,500 citizens, aged 18 years and over, distributed in all 11 governorates.
