UK's Mile East Minister arrives in Egypt to strengthen bilateral ties


(MENAFN- Daily News Egypt) The United Kingdom's Minister of State for International Development, Andrew Murrison arrived in Egypt on Sunday to discuss the strengthening of ties between the two countries.

During his visit, Murrison will meet Egypt's Minister of Investment and International Cooperation, Sahar Nasr, and other senior Egyptian government representatives, a statement from the British embassy to Egypt said, noting that Murrison will also meet Pope Tawadros II, the Pope of Alexandria and Patriarch of the See of St Mark.

'The UK is a strong partner of Egypt and its economic reform journey. In Cairo I look forward to my discussion with Minister Nasr, and making practical progress in our ever-growing economic partnership,' Murrison said ahead of his visit.

For his part, British ambassador to Egypt, Sir Geoffrey Adams said that the UK is one of Egypt's leading partners across a number of sectors including trade. Murrison's visit highlights the UK's plan to remain at the forefront of the countries supporting Egypt's development.
