Jordan- Interior Minister meets Qatari envoy


(MENAFN- Jordan News Agency) Amman, Sept. 15 (Petra) -- Interior Minister Salameh Hammad said joint work between Jordan and Qatar has largely contributed to guiding ties towards cooperation in the economic, political, and security fields.
During a meeting with Qatari Ambassador, Sheikh Saud bin Nasser al-Thani, Hammad said bilateral relations are based on brotherhood, mutual respect and keenness to develop them, under the directives of His Majesty King Abdullah II and Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani.
He highlighted the importance of turning cooperation efforts into reality, especially in the fields of training and exchange of expertise and security information, underlining the need for continuous bilateral coordination and establishing mechanisms of swift communication to combat terrorism and crime.
He said the Jordanian government is keen on providing all means of care to Qataris residing in the Kingdom, noting that the ministry follows up on them to resolve any obstacles they face.
The Qatari envoy underlined the deep-rooted relations between King Abdullah and Sheikh Tamim, pointing out their keenness to achieve the interests of the two countries and the Arab and Islamic nations.
He hailed Jordan's capability and competency, especially in the field of security and police training, underscoring the need to enhance bilateral cooperation to serve the brotherly peoples' common interests.
