Tunisian Ministry of the Interior said on Friday evening that 4 armed traffickers were apprehending after shooting a military patrol in Tataouine province, in southeastern Tunisia.
The ministry said in a statement that army units in Remada town apprehended the 4 armed traffickers who boarded all-terrain vehicles.
The statement said that "Two Kalashnikovs, a machine gun, a drone and quantities of ammunition have been seized during the operation".
Tunisian Interior Ministry issued a warning to citizens as to not get close to military zones or border buffer areas to avoid exposure to fire by military units.
