Qatar- Large turnout at QNB Open Career Day

The Open Career Day organised by QNB Group, the largest financial institution in the Middle East and Africa, witnessed a large turnout of Qatari students and graduates who submitted their applications for employment opportunities in the bank.

The event, which is part of the Group's commitment to the development of national human resources, is an important occasion to provide unique opportunities for Qatari students and graduates to meet their personal aspirations and contribute to enhancing the human development pillar of the Qatar National Vision (QNV) 2030.

H E Yousef Mohammed Al Othman Fakhroo, Minister of Administrative Development, Labour and Social Affairs; and QNB Acting Group CEO Abdulla Mubarak Al Khalifa attended the event.

Officials from QNB's Human Resources Department have made significant efforts in providing necessary assistance, guidance and responding to all inquiries of applicants.

Applicants met with QNB officials who introduced them to the scholarship program and various positions available in all sectors of the Bank, including the banking, commercial, information technology, administration and services sectors. They also briefed them on the training and professional development programs offered by the Bank's Training and Development Center.

Visitors interested in joining the Bank also had the opportunity to learn about programs for Qatari employees in the Group's overseas branches aimed at enabling them to acquire advanced international banking skills and experience, including the Ambassador & Envoy program aimed at giving high-potential Qatari employees exposure to the international banking environment.

Representatives also briefed applicants on various specialized training programs tailored to suit the specific job needs of Qatari employees, including the Supervisory Development Program, the Management Development Program (MDP), the Leadership Development Program (LDP), and the Personal Effectiveness Program (PEP), along with the Induction Programs for new joiners.

On the other hand, the QNB Human Resources team prepares for the second phase, which will include interviews with candidates and assessment of their academic background and practical experiences. The successful applicants will be provided with suitable job offers and scholarships.

The Open Career Day provides Qatari students and graduates with employment opportunities in an attractive work environment that offers to its employees the best facilities and various capability-building programs.

QNB's Qatarisation program has achieved a local Qatari workforce of more than 50 percent, one of the highest in the Qatari banking sector. The percentage of Qataris in top management positions has exceeded 77 percent, with more than 82 percent in branch management. Women's participation is above 40 percent in various positions across the Group's operations.

The Group is seen as one of the best job destinations in Qatar, which succeeded to attract and retain qualified staff in Qatar and across its international network, to achieve its vision of becoming a leading bank in the Middle East, Africa and Southeast Asia (MEASEA) by 2020.

The organization of this event was part of its CSR commitment to support national economic growth, which represents a main pillar of its overall strategy.

The Group also participates in many other events catering to the development of the national Qatari workforce, such as the Qatar Career Fair and other career fairs organized by Qatari educational institutions domestically, and embassies abroad.
