(MENAFN) Smartphone exports by South Korean giant Samsung Electronics to European nations witnessed a surge from April to June 2019 as a result of a trade ban the United States imposed on Huawei.
During the second quarter, Samsung hit 40 percent in its shares in Central and Eastern Europe compared to last year's 33 percent.
Counterpoint Research, a market researcher, pointed out that this figure is twice that of the 20 percent China's Huawei posted.
"Samsung benefited from the drop in Huawei's volumes after the U.S.' trade ban," the market researcher affirmed.
"Excellent traction for its refreshed A-series also helped the company's performance in the region," it added.
