(MENAFN) Looking to lure more foreign direct investment into Uzbekistan's southeastern Kashkadarya region, the country is launching a project to establish the Chirakchi Free Economic Zone (FEZ).
FEZ, under a decree that President Shavkat Mirziyoyev penned, will be a magnet for foreign direct investment with an aim to generate high-tech and export-oriented products.
Uzbek Justice Ministry further affirmed that the free economic zone, which is being created in Chirakchi district of Kashkadarya region, will be reinforcing the potential of export within the area.
Economic reforms have been ongoing in the country over the last two years, seeking more foreign investment with 20 free economic zones currently running.
