(MENAFN) Statistics Korea revealed that in August, the employment rate in South Korea witnessed the highest record in 29 months amid efforts to open job opportunities.
Data showed that the volume of people who found jobs in South Korea surged by 452,000 people last month on annual basis to stand at an overall of 27,358,000.
This figure is the highest and fastest to be registered in twenty-nine months since March 2017.
The South Korean government announced a number of projects aimed at opening job opportunities, mostly among the older generation as the country sees fast population aging.
The government was also confirmed to have started offering part-time employment for the older generation if they failed to make sufficient preparations post-retirement.
