Iraq: anti-terror operation kills 5 Daesh terrorists in Salahudin




(MENAFN) On Tuesday, five Daesh terrorists were murdered as a result of an anti-terror operation conducted in Iraq's central province of Salahuddin, a provincial police officer emphasized.

A Counter-Terrorism Service (CTS) force, supported by U.S.-led coalition and Iraqi fighter jets, carried out in the early morning a search and clearance operation in the rugged area of Ganous close to the city of Shirqat, around 280 km north of Baghdad, Khalil al-Namis, from Salahuddin provincial police command, informed Xinhua.

Al-Namis stated that the forces with the air shelled Daesh locations in the region, resuling in death to five Daesh terrorists, and also confiscated caches of weapons and ammunition.

He affirmed that the operation will still ongoing in the region to clear the area from all the Daesh terrorist.
