Qatar- Shura Council signs MoU with Chamber of Deputies of Brazil


(MENAFN- The Peninsula) QNAA Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed yesterday between the Shura Council and the Chamber of Deputies of the Federal Republic of Brazil.  
The Speaker of the Shura Council, H E Ahmed bin Abdullah bin Zaid Al Mahmoud, and the President of the Chamber of Deputies of Brazil, Rodrigo Maia, signed the MoU. 
 Under the MoU, the two parties agreed to establish a partnership and strengthen relations based on the principles of equality, mutual trust and common interests. 
The MoU aims to strengthen, and develop parliamentary relations through the exchange of information on issues of mutual interest and on all parliamentary issues within the competence of the parties.    
 Also, the MoU provides for coordination in international conferences, meetings, and forums and to work towards unifying positions. It provides for the exchange of experiences between the Shura Council and Chamber of Deputies of Brazil in various fields such as legislative work and internal organisation.
This came during a meeting of H E the Speaker of the Shura Council with the President of the Chamber of Deputies of the Federal Republic of Brazil and the accompanying delegation. The meeting discussed the cooperation relations between the two councils and ways of supporting and developing them.
H E the Speaker affirmed the common desire to develop the Qatari-Brazilian relations, especially in the parliamentary field and upgrading them to serve the interests of the peoples of the two countries.
The President of the Chamber of Deputies of Brazil expressed his happiness to visit Qatar and to see the renaissance witnessed in various fields, praising Qatar's distinguished role at the regional and international levels. He affirmed his keenness to work to strengthen bilateral cooperation between the two countries and develop their parliamentary cooperation. He pointed out that the signing of an MoU between the Shura Council and the Latin American and Caribbean Parliament last June, in which Qatar became an observer member of the Latin American and Caribbean Parliament, has given Qatar's relations with Latin America and the Caribbean a new dimension and opened wider horizons for it. 
The meeting was attended by the Chairman of the Qatari Friendship Committee with Latin American and Caribbean Countries, Khalid bin Abdullah Al Buainain, and Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Brazil to Qatar, Roberto Abdalla.
