Jordan- Second round of presidential elections in Abkhazia begins


(MENAFN- Jordan News Agency) Amman, Sep. 8 (Petra)-- The second round of presidential elections in the Republic of Abkhazia began Sunday.
The two remaining contenders are incumbent President Raul Khajimba, and main opposition leader, Alkhas Kvitsinia, both gained 24.83 % and 22.91 % in the first-round, respectively.
According to the Abkhaz laws, in order to win the second round of elections, a candidate needs to get more votes than their opponent.
The turnout threshold is 25 percent.
Voters on Sunday will also select their new vice president.
