Qatar launches air bridge to relieve Sudanese


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) DOHA, Aug 31 (KUNA) -- Qatar declared on Saturday dispatching the first planeload of relief supplies for flood-stricken Sudanese as part of a humanitarian "air bridge" for the nation.
The official Qatari News Agency (QNA) said upon instructions by the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani, an air force aircraft flew to the Khartoum Airport, boarding the relief supplies for Sundanese who were badly affected by the floods early this month.
The cargo includes 60 tons of various supplies, valued at USD five million. (end)
