The Ministry of Information, in cooperation with Enjaz Foundation for Development, on Sunday began the Institutional Excellence Diploma programme at the Public Authority for Radio and Television.
The event was held under the patronage of H E Ali bin Khalfan al Jabri, Undersecretary in the Ministry of Information.
H E Jabri said in a statement that the Ministry of Information started implementing a series of professional diplomas two years ago. The diplomas are subject to specific criteria and enrolment requirements that are different from regular programmes.
The diploma aims to motivate and encourage participants towards excellence, sustainability, competitiveness and institutionalisation as an outcome of the ministry's strategic plan, according to the government proficiency standards in the Ministry of Civil Service. It includes the application of proficiency through the formulation of the strategic performance evaluation form for departments and ensuring the role of leadership in spreading the excellence culture among employees in the ministry. The diploma includes a range of training topics, including the definition of institutional excellence, government performance standards, database building, and knowledge management system to achieve institutional excellence, development of excellence guideline and the basic policies and procedures.
Fifteen employees from the Ministry of Information are participating in the programme with Dr Hamdi Hashan giving lectures.
