Qatar- City College becomes affiliate college of Ulster University

The City College has officially become an affiliate college of Ulster University with the recent signing of a memorandum of recognition.

City College will offer approved franchised programmes from September with flexible study options leading to awards from Ulster University, one of the UK's top 10 entrepreneurial universities also ranked in the top 200 young universities in the world.

Ulster University is a globally engaged university, partnering with institutions across the world that share common values and a focus on civic impact.

Bachelor degrees and Diploma in International Foundation Studies will be offered by Ulster University starting this September. Masters programmes will follow in the very near future. Ulster University Business School is the sixth largest business school in the UK and has 60,000 alumni working across 120 countries as drivers of economic growth globally. Through a variety of innovative courses and programmes Ulster University shapes the futures of its students and builds opportunity into the businesses they will join.

The Pro Vice Chancellor of Ulster University, Professor Paul Bartholomew, said: 'The innovative partnership between City College and the Ulster Business School represents a milestone for Ulster University's internationalisation agenda. We are committed to offering our key areas of business expertise to students in Qatar. Through this partnership with City College we are able to join together Ulster's innovative thinking and business education leadership with City College's regional connections and teaching experience. This new partnership, capitalising on the strengths of each partners' experience will lead the shaping of the careers of the business leaders of the future in Doha and beyond.

Dr. Michael Clarke, Principal of City College, commented: 'We are delighted to become an affiliate college of Ulster University. Our new internationally-recognised UK degrees awarded by Ulster University will allow our students to obtain a BSc (Hons) Business Studies from Ulster University's top ranked Business School. We will start offering Ulster University programmes this September. These programmes are approved by the Ministry of Education and Higher Education in Qatar. '
