(MENAFN- UkrinForm) President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky signed a decree on marking the Day of Remembrance of the Defenders of Ukraine, who were killed in the struggle for the country's independence and territorial integrity, on August 29.
The head of state announced this during the celebrations on the occasion of the 28th anniversary of Ukraine's Independence, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.
"In order to commemorate the fallen Ukrainian soldiers and members of volunteer groups, I signed a decree establishing the Day of Remembrance of the Defenders of Ukraine, who died in the struggle for the independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine, and marking it annually on August 29," the president said.
