One dead 3 injured, 38 cars smashed


(MENAFN- Newsroom Panama) One person was killed and three injured and 38 vehicles were smashed when the kidnapped driver of an articulated truck careened down a street  in El Chorillo. Panama City in the early hours of Thursday, August  22.

The truck driver - who was transporting grain told the police  and traveled along Simón Bolívar Avenue to  Manuel Espinosa Batista, passed through    Federico Boyd tp  Balboa Avenue and then entered El Chorrillo said Police Commissioner, Franklin Serrano.

The truck entered 17th and  21st streets where cars were  parked and the collisions began.

The truck stopped in Plaza Amador when it collided head-on with a taxi, which went under the tires of the articulated vehicle. One of the passengers in the taxi died in the accident. Three others were injured.

Serrano said the driver said that when the truck stopped the criminals fled.

Traffic Police Simón Henríquez said that the truck driver registered negative in a breathalyzer test
