Pakistan- Will no longer seek dialogue with India, says PM Imran

(MENAFN - Tribal News Network) PESHAWAR: Prime Minister Imran Khan has said that now there is no point to talk to India after years of efforts to bring India to negotiating table that could not bear any fruits.

PM Khan said this in an interview with The New York Times on Thursday. He added that Pakistan wanted meaningful dialogues with India as it is an only sensible option for regional peace and resolution of bilateral issues but India has not given any favourable response to Pakistan's sincere efforts.

The prime minister remarks come among looming tension between the two countries after India stripped Kashmir of its special status in Indian constitution through a rushed presidential order on August 5. Following the change, a complete curfew was declared in IHK which has resulted in communications blackout and heavy restrictions on movement that have now entered 18th day on Thursday. At least 4,000 people have been detained in Indian-occupied Kashmir since then.

The PM said that they are worried about the lives of millions of Kashmiri people whose lives are at stake and there is a complete blackout since August 5. He expressed the fear that now the government of Pakistan is worried that ethnic cleansing and genocide of innocent Kashmiri people will be followed after India forcefully deprived them of special constitutional status.

The Prime Minister said India is being ruled by ‘Hindu extremists ‘and warned that Pakistan will strongly resist if India tried to imposed war.

The Indian government is claiming that restrictions imposed on Kashmiri are being eased based on the ground situation. The Indian officials claim that Public utility services, banks and hospitals are functioning normally. However Indian media have reported that people aren't willing to come out of their houses and all their businesses, offices, educational institutions are lying deserted in protest against the Indian move of depriving Kashmir of their special status
