(MENAFN- Tribal News Network) MIRANSHAH: One person was injured in a bomb blast in Mir Ali sub-division of North Waziristan tribal district on Thursday, official sources said.
The sources said the blast happened in Khadi market in which the watchman of the market was injured. The injured watchman was taken to hospital. The condition of the injured watchman was stated to be critical.
The security forces cordoned off the entire area after the blast and launched search operation. However, no arrest was made in the search operation. No banned outfit has claimed responsibility of the blast.
The blast in Mir Ali market happened two days after four persons lost their lives and eight others sustained injuries in two separate landmine blasts in North and South Waziristan tribal districts.
TNN correspondent reported that the first blast happened in Birmal area of South Waziristan near the Pak-Afghan border in which four persons, including two children, were killed and six others were injured.
Sources said the deceased belonged to Gangikhel sub-tribe of Wazir tribe. They were going to an orchard of chilgoza (pine nuts) when their vehicle hit a landmine. The injured persons were immediately shifted to a hospital in Dera Ismail Khan. Gangikhel area is spread across the Pak-Afghan border in South Waziristan and the incident happened near the border.
The second landmine blast happened in Dangin area of North Waziristan in which two security personnel were injured. The injured security men were identified as Zahid and Hidayat. The injured soldiers were immediately taken to hospital.
On August 07, a 14-year-old boy was critically injured in a landmine blast in Dattakhel tehsil of North Waziristan.
One June 25, a child lost her life and three others were injured in a landmine blast in North Waziristan. Local sources said the incident happened near Dabray Pull in Patikhel village in Hamzoni. The sources said children belonging to same family were playing outside their home when one of them stepped over a landmine. A little girl lost her life in the incident, while three others were injured.
On June 14, a security personnel lost his life in a landmine explosion in South Waziristan.
