Surge in Turkish FDI by USD188m


(MENAFN) Official data revealed that foreign direct investment (FDI) in Turkey from January to June this year stood at USD3.1 billion.

Based on the Economic Policy Research Foundation of Turkey (TEPAV), Turkey reported a USD188 million boost in FDI during the six-month period on annual basis.

Qatar accounted for 19.4 percent of Turkish FDI while the UK amounted for 18.7 percent and Azerbaijan added 17.5 percent.

Meanwhile, the manufacturing sector contributed with 29.2 percent to FDI inflows while the finance and insurance activities sector accounted for 24.8 percent.
