(MENAFN- Daily Outlook Afghanistan) HERAT CITY - Seventeen civilians have been killed inas many days in western Herat province during separate incidents that leftanother 1,100 wounded, an official said Tuesday.
Dr. Arif Jalali, the Herat zonal hospital head, told apress conference here that the said casualties resulted from traffic accidents,firing, suicide, eating poisonous drugs across the province.
He said 543 people were wounded in traffic accidents,42 persons in firing incidents, 119 others were stabbed with knives, 297 morewere injured by beating, 119 eaten poisonous drugs and 20 more sustainedinjuries in landmine blasts. He said 318 women and 112 children were among thosewounded. The injured were under treatment at the zonal hospital, he said.Meanwhile, police spokesman Abdul Ahad Walizadah told Pajhwok most of thecriminals had been arrested by police and referred to the judicial organs forfurther investigation.
