(MENAFN - Jordan News Agency) Amman, Aug. 21 (Petra) - The Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan in Amman Tuesday evening held a reception on the occasion of the country's National Day, attended by a number of officials, diplomats, journalists and guests.
Attending the ceremony as representative of the Jordanian government, Minister of Agriculture and Environment, Ibrahim Shehadeh, said expressed readiness to further expand the already strong ties between Jordan and Jordanian and Afghanistan.
The minister recalled the hard times Afghanistan has passed through, during which Jordan participated in peacekeeping missions, expressing hope that security and stability will prevail in the country along with economical and political progress.
Afghanistan's Ambassador to Jordan, Tariq Shah Bahrami,valued excellent and long-standing relations between his country and Jordan, appreciating Jordan's support to Afghanistan in various fields, including efforts in combating terrorism and extremism.
He pointed out the important role of the Jordan's military field hospital and it's specialized medical team sent to Afghanistan during 2006 to 2013 in providing medical services for both civilians and military personnel.
