The American Petroleum Institute (API) said there was an increase of 3.5 million crude oil barrels in the U.S. inventories in the past week.
They also revised the earlier week's oil inventories from a decline of 2.19 million barrels to an increase of 3.7 million barrels. . For the week ending Aug. 9, the U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA) added 1.6 million barrels.
The prices of oil kept rising on Tuesday, investors remained worried about the ongoing geopolitical tensions between Iran and the West.
