80 deaths amid Kabul wedding bombing

(MENAFN) Officials confirmed on Wednesday the death of 80 people following a suicide bombing explosion which erupted on Saturday at a wedding in Kabul, the capital of Afghanistan.

Spokesman of the interior ministry Nasrat Rahimi noted that the death toll late Saturday hit 63, but it increased after injured people passed away while getting treatment.

Rahimi added: "seventeen others have succumbed to their injuries in hospital and over 160 are still being treated either in hospitals or at home."

This brutal suicide blast was carried out by Islamic State terrorists, as the group held responsibility behind the attack.
