(MENAFN- Muscat Daily) Talented and young Omani rally driver Abdullah al Rawahi will look to better his performances in the forthcoming Jordan National Rally when he competes along with his co-driver Ata al Hmoud of Jordan in the fourth round, beginning on Friday.
Rawahi, who made a sensational start this year, bagging a runner-up finish in the opening round of the first Jordan National Rally, has impressed with his speed and skills but was forced to retire in two of the three Jordan National Rally.
Driving a Subaru Impreza Sti N14 car, Rawahi is currently placed overall second in Group N category.
So far, the 22 year old Rawahi has to his credit a stage win and a second-place finish along with two retirements – in Jordan Rally and third Jordan National Rally.
Besides taking part in the rallies in Jordan, Rawahi has participated in three rallies in Lebanon and one in Qatar, including three rounds of the FIA-Middle East Rally Championship
Looking ahead to the fourth round, Rawahi said, 'We are ready and are optimistic of a strong show. Mechanical issues and breakdowns are part and parcel of a rally and I have been unfortunate to have breakdowns twice in Jordan. I have learned a lot through my international participations and I am much confident now after the experiences.'
'I am placed overall second in Group N and with two more national rallies to go, I am hopeful of winning the Group N title,' he added.
